Secondary glazing and condensation, are relative in that the glazing is done to reduce condensation on the windows. It will never eliminate it completely but does reduce it if the glazing is done correctly. Secondary glazing is placing a sheet of glass or plastic over the window to help reduce noise and condensation. It is less expensive than replacing the whole window.

Secondary – and double-glazing are both tried and true methods of making a building more energy efficient. Both will reduce heating and cooling costs and also lessen carbon-dioxide emissions. Both work well but are certainly not equal in their efficiency or functionality. For one thing, there is an on-going problem with secondary glazing and condensation. This is not such a problem with double-panes.

Magnificent buildings are built and designed daily by talented men. Upon the completion of one structure, the next is begun. Our cities are built this way, they expand and age. These building grow older and begin to deteriorate. Some are lucky enough to be given historic status and are provided with a face lift that requires their original architecture to be preserved. Old wooden windows have to be restored or replaced with new wood frame windows. Builders are forced to increase the energy efficiency using secondary glazing, however there are problems that may occur due to secondary glazing and condensation.
